เมื่อเราลงเครื่องที่สนามบิน New York Newark Liberty International Airport (สนามบินนี้เรียกย่อๆ ว่า Newark หรือ EWR) ด้วยสายการบิน Air China ที่ Terminal – B แล้ว (ดูรีวิวไฟลท์เราจากกรุงเทพมานิวบอร์คด้วยสายการบินนี้ที่นี่ ) หากจุดหมายต่อไปของเราคือเข้าสู่มหานครนิวยอร์ค การเข้าเมืองด้วยวิธีที่สะดวกและประหนัดค่าใช้จ่ายที่สุดคือ “รถไฟ” ครับ (จริงๆ แล้วสนามบินแห่งนี้ตั้งอยู่ฝั่ง New Jersey ซึ่งหากใครจะไปต่อยัง New Jersey หรือไปไกลกว่านั้นอย่างเมือง Philadelphia ก็สามารถใช้รถไฟจากสนามบินนี้ได้เช่นกัน เรียกได้ว่าสะดวกมาก) นอกเหนือจากนี้แล้วอาจจะใช้บริการแท็กซี่หรือรถบัสก็ได้ แต่สำหรับทริปนี้เราเลือกใช้รถไฟเพราะสามารถควบคุมเวลาเดินทางได้นั่นเอง 🙂
When I arrived at Newark Liberty International Airport in New York (this airport is commonly known as Newark or EWR) on Air China airline at Terminal B. My next destination was to enter the great city of New York, the most convenient and cost-effective way to enter the city was by “Train” (actually, this airport is located on the New Jersey side, so if you want to go to New Jersey or further away, such as Philadelphia, you can also use the train from this airport. It’s very convenient). In addition to this, you could also use a taxi or bus service, but for this trip, I chose the train because it allowed me to control my travel time and budget. 🙂
หลังจากที่เราผ่านพีธีการตรวจคนเข้าเมืองและรับกระเป๋าแล้ว เราก็เดินหาทางไปขึ้นรถไฟเข้า New York กัน โดยเดินตามป้ายที่เขียนว่า “Air Train” ไปเรื่อยๆ (Air Train คือรถไฟฟ้าเชื่อมต่อระหว่าง Terminal ภายในสนามบิน Newark) อ้อ….ผมลืมบอกไปครับว่าแผนการเดินทางเข้าเมืองของเราคือนั่ง Air Train จาก Terminal – B ไปสถานีรถไฟ Newark Liberty International Airport Station (สถานีสีบานเย็นในแผนที่ด้านล่าง) ซึ่งเป็นสถานีของรถไฟ NJ transit จากนั้นก็ต่อด้วยรถไฟ NJ transit เข้าสู่กลางเมือง New York สุดปลายทางที่ New York Penn Station สามารถดูการเดินทางจากแผนที่ด้านล่างนี้เพื่อให้เข้าใจได้ดีขึ้นครับ (ระวังชื่อสถานีนะครับ เพราะมีคำว่า Penn Station อยู่สองที่ คือ Newark และ New York ที่เราจะไปคือ New York ส่วน Newark เป็นอีกเมืองหนึ่งที่อยู่ใกล้สนามบิน EWR)
After passing through the immigration and collecting my baggage, I walked to the train station to go to New York. I followed the signs that said “Air Train” (Air Train is the train that connects the terminals within Newark airport). Oops…I forgot to mention that my plan was to take the Air Train from Terminal – B to the Newark Liberty International Airport Station (a dark pink station on the map below) which is a station for NJ transit trains. Then, I continued my journey by taking the NJ transit train to New York City, with the final destination at New York Penn Station. You can see the route on the map below for a better understanding. (Be careful about the station name because there are two Penn Stations: one in Newark and the one we are going to is in New York. Newark is another city close to the EWR airport.)

เมื่อเดินตามป้าย Air Train ไปเรื่อยจะเจอสถานี Air Train และที่หน้าสถานีจะมีตู้ขายตํ่วรถไฟเข้าเมืองของ NJ Transit ด้วย แนะนำว่าซื้อจากที่นี่เลย เพื่อจะได้ไม่ต้องไปเสี่ยงคิวยาวตอนไปถึงสถานี Newark Liberty International Airport Station ราคาค่าตั๋วอยู่ที่ 15.25 USD ต่อคนต่อเที่ยว (ประมาณ 475 บาท) เครื่องขายตั๋วรับทั้งเงินสดและบัตรเครดิต
As I followed the signs for Air Train, I eventually arrived at the Air Train station, where there were vending machines selling train tickets to New York City via NJ Transit. I highly recommend purchasing tickets here to avoid potentially long lines at the Newark Liberty International Airport Station. The ticket price was 15.25 USD per person per trip (approximately 475 THB), and the vending machines accepted both cash and credit cards.

เมื่อได้ตั๋วมาแล้วก็เดินไปขึ้นรถไฟ Air Train ที่ชานชาลาเพื่อไปลงยังจุดหมายที่สถานี Newark Liberty International Airport Station เราจะต้องนั่งในทิศทางที่จะไป Rail Link โดยนั่งไป 3 สถานีผ่านสถานี Terminal – C และสถานีลานจอดรถ P4 ใช้เวลาไม่นานมากประมาณ 10 นาทีก็ถึงแล้วครับ การขึ้น Air Train ยังไม่ต้องตรวจตั๋วครับ เพราะการใช้ Air Train เพื่อการเดินทางระหว่าง Terminal ในสนามบิน Newark นั้นฟรี
Once I had the ticket, I boarded the Air Train to Newark Liberty International Airport Station. From there, I had to take the Rail Link in the direction of Terminal C and Parking Lot P4, which only took about 10 minutes. There was no need to show the ticket to board the Air Train because it’s free for travelling between terminals in Newark airport.

เมื่อมาถึงสถานที่ของ NJ Transit แล้วให้ลงจากรถเพื่อเปลี่ยนไปใช้รถไฟสายหลักที่จะเข้าเมือง โดยให้เดินตามป้ายบอกทางที่ระบุว่า “Train to New York” ไปเรื่อยๆ ก็จะเจอชานชาลาของรถไฟเข้าเมือง NJ Transit
When I arrived at the NJ Transit station, I got off the Air Train and switched to the main train line that goes into the city. I followed the signs that said “Train to New York” and finally arrived at the train platform for the NJ Transit city train.

เมื่อถึงชานชาลาแล้วก็ให้รอขึ้นรถไฟในเส้นทางที่จะไป New York โดยในเส้นทางนี้จะหยุดจอด 3 สถานีคือ Newark Penn Station, Sacausus และ New York Penn Station โดยจุดหมายเราคือสถานีสุดท้าย ไม่ต้องห่วงว่าจะนั่งเลยป้ายครับ 🙂
From there, I waited for the train that would take me to New York. Along the way, the train stopped at three stations: Newark Penn Station, Secaucus, and New York Penn Station. My final destination was New York Penn Station, so I didn’t have to worry about missing my stop.

จากนั้นนั่งไปอีกประมาณ 30 นาทีก็จะถึงจุดหมายปลายทาง New York Penn Station ซึ่งสถานีแห่งนี้เป็นเหมือนจุดศูนย์กลางรถไฟของนครนิวยอร์ค (บนรถไฟ NJ Transit ส่วนมากมีที่นั่งว่างเยอะครับ) เราสามารถที่จะต่อรถไฟใต้ดิน (Subway) เพื่อไปยังโรงแรมหรือจุดหมายอื่นๆ ได้อย่างสะดวกมากๆ เพราะที่นิวยอร์ครถไฟใต้ดินครอบคลุมทุกจุดในเมืองและชานเมือง
The train ride took about 30 minutes, and I arrived at my final destination, New York Penn Station. This station is like the central hub of the New York City train system (there were plenty of available seats on the NJ Transit trains). From there, it was very convenient to transfer to the subway to get to my hotel or other destinations because the subway system in New York City covers every corner of the city and the surrounding area.

เป็นยังไงบ้างครับสำหรับวิธีการเข้าเมือง New York จากสนามบิน Newark ด้วยรถไฟที่ทั้งสะดวกและรวดเร็ว รวมเวลาตั้งแต่รับกระเป๋าจนถึง New York Penn Station แล้วประมาณชั่วโมงเดียว ควบคุมได้ทั้งเวลาและค่าใช้จ่าย ส่วนตัวผมจึงนับว่าเป็นวิธีการที่สะดวกที่สุดวิธีหนึ่งและเป็นวิธีที่ผมแนะนำสำหรับผู้ที่ไปนิวยอร์คแล้วลงเครื่องที่สนามบิน Newark ครับ…..พบกันใหม่ตอนหน้า…..Have a wonderful stay in NYC 🙂
How about the method of getting to New York City from Newark Airport by train that is both convenient and fast? From picking up my luggage to arriving at New York Penn Station, it took about an hour, and I was able to control both time and cost. Personally, I consider it is the one of most convenient method and one that I recommend for those who are traveling to New York City and landing at Newark Airport.
